The heart behind the design

John 3:30 says “He must increase, but I must decrease.” This is John the Baptist talking directly about Jesus. A few verses before he says “I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.” So in these verses John is saying that he isn’t the Messiah but he is just the friend that wants everyone to know about Him. Jesus is the important one, the hero to the story, and we aren’t… but we rejoice in the fact that we, like John, can make His name known! John paved the way for Jesus’ first coming but we get to do the same thing for His return! 

So keep reminding yourself of that as you fulfill the great commission. To go and bring the name of Jesus to every tribe, nation and tongue. To make them disciples, baptize them and teach them the commands of Jesus.
